Frequently Asked Questions
Benelli Super Black Eagle For Sale
How much does a Benelli Super Black Eagle cost?
Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 shotguns typically cost around $1,814, with most listings ranging from $1,485 to $2,625.
What are the common problems with the Benelli Super Black Eagle?
The SBE3 has a widely reported, ongoing point-of-impact problem where the gun shoots high — not limited to early models. Both SBE2 and SBE3 owners commonly report stuck carriers, double feeds, failures to feed, and misfires. The inertia system also struggles to cycle reliably with light loads.
Do Benelli shotguns hold their value?
Benelli shotguns hold their value well compared to most brands. Used models typically sell for around $1,100 on average. Final resale price depends on condition, model, and originality, but demand from hunters and collectors keeps pre-owned Benellis consistently strong in the secondary market.
What is the difference between Super Black Eagle 2 and 3?
The SBE3 features an upgraded bolt that eliminates the "Benelli click" found in the SBE2, cycles more reliably, and shoots softer. However, the SBE3 reportedly shoots higher. The SBE2 has a longer reliability track record but can experience carrier latch issues. The SBE3 uses more modern materials throughout.
Is Benelli a China brand?
Benelli is Italian-founded but Chinese-owned. Qianjiang Motor acquired the brand in 2005. Design and R&D remain based in Pesaro, Italy, while much production occurs in China, making it a hybrid operation rather than a purely Chinese brand.
What is better, Beretta or Benelli?
Neither is objectively better. Beretta A400s shoot softer and handle smoothly due to their gas-operated system. Benelli SBE3s are inertia-driven, known for reliability and a slimmer profile. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize recoil reduction or mechanical simplicity. Test both before buying.
