Frequently Asked Questions
Barrett REC7 Di for sale
How much does a Barrett REC7 cost?
Barrett REC7 rifles average around $1,194 new and $1,036 used. Retail listings typically range from $1,699 to $1,935.95. Prices vary based on barrel length, handguard configuration, and specific features.
What trigger is in the Barrett REC7?
Barrett equips the REC7 DI with an ALG QMS trigger, described as a heavy stock trigger. The related REC7 Gen II uses a Geissele SSA two-stage trigger with a 4.5-pound pull. Both are suited for duty and defensive use.
What ammo does the Barrett REC7 use?
The Barrett REC7 DI uses 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. The 6.8mm SPC chambering was associated with older REC7 variants, not the current REC7 DI model.
Is the Barrett REC7 a good rifle?
Barrett's REC7 DI is a reliable, accurate duty rifle. Its chrome-lined hammer-forged barrel handles steel-case ammunition without issues, recoil is minimal, and build quality is tight. It functions well out of the box. At its price point, it competes favorably with other premium AR-platform rifles.
What is the effective range of the REC7?
The REC7 DI has an effective range of approximately 500 meters. Its 16-inch barrel with 1:7 twist stabilizes projectiles from 40 to 77 grains. With quality 77-grain ammunition, it achieves sub-MOA accuracy at 100 yards, with reliable hits on man-sized targets to 300–500 meters.
What does "REC7" mean?
REC7 stands for Reliability-Enhanced Carbine, with "7" referencing its 2007 design year. Barrett manufactures this semi-automatic rifle in 5.56 NATO, featuring a gas piston operating system, chrome-lined barrel, and Geissele trigger, designed for duty, defense, and range use.
