Imagine a snowcone in a sauna. It has a better chance than any coyote or prairie dog that takes a direct slap from the Ballistic Tip Varmint projectile. Its light 50 grain weight lets it start it off at a higher muzzle velocity. It retains a good deal of that velocity downrange thanks to its streamlined polymer tip and ballistically engineered Solid Base (a thick portion of jacket with a deformation-resistant boat tail).
The Ballistic Tip Varmint’s ultra-thin jacket mouth is characteristic of a varmint bullet. It promotes the fastest possible terminal expansion inside game. It’s ideal for rodents (which are small enough to prevent expansion of a conventional projectile). Note that the Ballistic Tip Varmint may penetrate too shallow for deer hunting or self-defense.
Dusk hunting? Groovy. Underwood’s low-flash propellant won’t blind you. Their lubricious nickel-plated brass cases won’t disappoint either. Keep those tarnish-resistant shells handy for handloading!
