The world of long-range rifle competition is evolving rapidly, with the precision rifle series production class gaining popularity. This class sets limits on rifle and optics costs to ensure that newcomers can compete without being overshadowed by expensive custom gear. Browning introduces the X-Bolt target max competition heavy, a high-performance rifle with significant weight. Its design centers around a stiffer and heavier full-diameter receiver paired with a robust bull barrel featuring a one inches diameter at the muzzle. The max stock is upgraded with a denser nylon-filled material, adding crucial mass for improved rifle stability and accuracy over long distances. The receiver boasts an alignment flat for scope leveling and a pinned recoil lug for precise barrel replacement. Securing the package is a 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail held in place by oversized screws and an additional steel pin. The elongated bolt handle reduces opening force, and the X-Bolt target rifle adopts the xtra capacity magazine system, accepting accuracy international chassis system (AICS) pattern magazines with 5 and 10-rounds capacities. It ships with an MDT 10-rounds polymer box magazine, and the magazine well's front serves as a barrier stop, showcasing its versatility.
